GREENVILLE, Mich. — One man from Greenville who lost his fantasy football league was forced to wear a dress and hat while carrying a purse as 'punishment.'
Hunter Tobey, from Greenville, drafted Matt Prater of the Detroit Lions in the second round. The choice, along with drafting other Lions players, cost him his chance at winning.
"It could have went better, but it happens," said Tobey.
On Saturday, his friends bought the dress from a local thrift store. As punishment, Tobey was forced to walk around Meijer while his friends chanted throughout the walk. He also stood in front of the intersection as cars went by.
"I couldn't look anyone in the eyes," said Tobey. "It was very embarrassing. I just wanted it to be over."
Ironically, Tobey was the person who came up with the idea for the punishment when their Fantasy Football league began.
Friend, Kolton Dunham, won the league instead.
"I was pretty confident in the beginning of the season," said Dunham. "It's like taking candy from a baby from these dudes."
Tobey says he will play again next year but strategize differently.
