Beginning Monday, it's legal to light fireworks today across Michigan through the night of July 4.

Fireworks are allowed from 11 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. every day.

Those who light fireworks outside those times can get a ticket for $1,000.

Police are reminding people that fireworks cannot be lit on public property, or at schools or churches. Additionally, veterans groups are also reminding people to be respectful to neighbors who served and suffer from PTSD.
