GRANT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people were arrested last week for allegedly stealing a camper from a Mason County business.

The $18,000 camper was taken in August 2019 from a parking lot of a travel trailer business in Grant Township, about 10 miles south of Manistee. It was recovered that September by Muskegon Township police.

On Thursday, investigators obtained arrest warrants for 47-year-old David Newman of Grand Haven and 43-year-old Jeromy Sobers of Mason. Both are facing charges of felony larceny and being fourth-time habitual offenders.

Newman also had five outstanding warrants in Mason County.

Sobers was arrested on Thursday and is currently free on bond. Newman was arrested by Ottawa County deputies on Saturday and remains in the Mason County Jail.
