MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — Muskegon Heights officials announced Tuesday that the city will celebrate Halloween between 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Trick-or-treaters must follow COVID-19 safety guidelines and wear a cloth mask – in addition to any costume masks they may be wearing – and practice social distancing.

Large groups are only allowed between members of the same household.

They’re also asked to pay careful attention in traffic and to be respectful of others’ property.

Muskegon police will be on patrol.

“Please be careful and not allow trick-or-treaters to wear costumes that are dark in color and that will impede their vision,” Deputy Chief Maurice Sain said. “Carrying a small, lit flashlight will provide additional visibility.”

Officials strongly encourage parents to accompany children 12 and under.
