EGELSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man riding what police describe as a moped/mini-bike was killed Wednesday evening when he rode in front of an SUV on M-46/Apple Avenue west of Carr Road.
William Patrick Cavanaugh, 74, was riding out of the driveway at Setcho Lumber in Egleston Township around 7:57 p.m. Wednesday and turned onto Apple Avenue into the path of a Ford Edge, which hit him. He died at the scene.
Investigators with the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office do not believe alcohol was a factor.
