CASCO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A construction worker has died after a trench collapsed near Lake Michigan on Wednesday morning.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office says the worker was working on underground utilities at a new construction site about 12 feet underground.
Workers on scene were able to get him out before emergency services arrived, but the individual had died from his injuries.
The incident happened about 9:30 a.m. on Lakeshore Drive in Casco Township.
The identity of the worker hasn’t been released pending family notification.
