ALLEGAN, Mich. — A driver of a car that drove into the Kalamazoo River after hitting police cars Wednesday morning.
Around 8:30 a.m., a deputy with Allegan County saw a suspecious vehicle parked along Monroe Rd., just west of the City of Allegan.
The vehicle fled after the deputy approached it.
Shortly after, the suspect vehicle in question hit two police cars responding to the area.
The suspect vehicle proceeded to drive off a steep bank into the Kalamazoo River near the Allegan County Fairgrounds.
No one was injured in the incident, as an Allegan County Sergeant and MSP troopers were able to pull the suspect out of the vehicle as it sank.
The Allegan County Dive Team was able to recover the suspect vehicle before it was fully submerged in the river.
This incident remains under investigation.
