ALLEGAN, Mich. — UPDATE: It has been confirmed to FOX 17 that Mrs Elbert has since been found and is safe.
Saturday evening, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing adult with disability. The missing person had walked away from an Adult Foster Care residence in Gun Plain Twp. (Southeast Allegan County).
She was later discovered at the Dollar Tree store in Plainwell by an employee of the foster care home, but the subject refused to go back to the home with the care worker.
The subject is currently under care and is required to take medication to maintain stability. Identified as Kathy Ann Elbert, the 43-year-old is approximately 5’7”, 250 lbs., and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown sweatshirt, jeans and red shows.
The Sheriff’s Office and family are asking for assistance in locating her as she is believed to be in the Plainwell or Kalamazoo area. Anyone with information as to Kathy’s whereabouts is requested to contact Allegan Central Dispatch at 269-673-0500.
