WAYLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A motorcycle rider died Thursday evening when he collided with a car that turned in front of him.
David Rowe II, 41, of the Wayland area, was pronounced dead at the scene on 129th Avenue east of 4th Street. He was riding the motorcycle.
Iaci Botelho-Bosman, 44, also from the Wayland area and a passenger in the car, died later at a Kalamazoo area hospital. If the driver of the car, a 47-year-old male, was injured, that face was not mentioned in a release from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place around 6:30 p.m. Thursday when the car, eastbound on 129th Avenue, turned in front of the westbound motorcycle.
The sheriff's office said speed was a factor in addition to the failure to yield.
