KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A 79-year-old woman is dead after a fire in Kalamazoo.
The incident began around 7 p.m. on Essex Circle near the Unity of Kalamazoo Church, according to Kalamazoo Public Safety.
When crews arrived at the scene, they learned that someone was still inside.
Even though the fire was growing quickly, crews rushed inside to try to rescue her.
That's when they found the unidentified victim, who had already passed away.
Though her identity was not been released, KPS offered their condolences to family and friends that have been impacted by this loss of life.
The Kalamazoo Fire Marshal is currently investigating the case.
