KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A small fire on a porch that a Kalamazoo officer found easy to put out turned into an investigation of shots fired and arson.
Officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were sent to the 1300 block of Princeton Avenue just east of Westnedge Avenue on a report of a fire. The first officer put the fire out with an extinguisher before it moved into the house. There were no injuries.
The officers then learned someone threw something on the porch that started the fire after firing several shots.
