KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Five people are in custody after a home invasion that led to one person getting shot.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says multiple people were reported trying to break into a home about 6 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Pickard Street in Comstock Township. People inside the home fired shots at the intruders, hitting one of them.
The person who was shot was treated and released from the hospital, Kalamazoo police say.
Police say the incident doesn’t appear to be connected to the two fatal shootings overnight in the city.
The investigation continues.
