BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Stacy Lantz spoke to Fox 17 on video chat Sunday afternoon. Meeting people in-person wasn't an option for her and her boyfriend, who are quarantined after Lantz tested positive for COVID 19. They'll remain in isolation for 14 days.

Lantz has two kids, who are staying with their dad in quarantine as well.

Stacy got her positive test results on Friday, April 3. She took the test earlier in the week on Sunday March 29, when she went to the doctors office with a cough.

“It can happen to anybody. I thought for sure I’d be one of the ones who’d never catch it,” Lantz said.

Friends have dropped off supplies to Lantz and her boyfriend. She says she wants everyone to know, if it can happen to her, it can happen to them too.

“I mean I’m reassured. But it’s really scary. People are dying from it. It messes with your head, mentally,” Lantz said.

Calhoun County Health Department officials have been in contact with Lantz to help her through the process of recovering at home.
