ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A motorcyclist died after a crash in Algoma Township on Monday. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) says the crash happened at Northland Drive and 13 Mile Road just before 4 p.m.

The motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Northland Drive, approaching the intersection of 13 Mile Road NW. A Ford Mustang that was traveling northbound attempted to turn westbound onto 13 Mile Road. The motorcycle then struck the Mustang.

Motorcycle crash in Algoma Township

The motorcyclist was found deceased. He has been identified as a 24-year-old man from Rockford.

The driver of the Mustang was a 75-year-old man from Rockford who received minor injuries.

The cause of the crash and helmet use is currently under investigation by the KCSO Traffic Safety Unit.
