GRANDVILLE, Mich. — Grandville’s celebration of Independence Day has been cancelled.

City council members previously discussed different ways to celebrate the 4th of July, but it was decided that cancellation was the wisest course of action.

Scheduled for June 27 through July 4, this year’s celebration was to include the traditional parade, one of the most popular in the region, family events, a 5k race, food, music, and fireworks.
