WALKER, Mich. — Food intended for Kent County residents dealing with food shortages will be distributed on Thursday, June 4, at the DeltaPlex from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kent County Community Action aims to assist about 1,200 households struggling to meet their food needs. More than 20 food items will be in each packet, which may include fresh fruit, canned vegetables and fruit, spaghetti pasta, and frozen pork and beef.
The food distribution is drive-up only, and drivers need to have their trunks empty enough to take up to 75 pounds of food. Drivers should remain in their vehicles for the safety of staff.
The DeltaPlex is at 2500 Turner Avenue NW in Walker.
