COMSTOCK PARK, MICH. — For the last 23 years, Bill Schrader has spent August to November building a light display.
"That’s amazing,” Schrader said.
And it's one thing that won't change about the Christmas season this year. Simply drive up, pay for your vehicle to go through, and watch the display.
You can purchase tickets online here.
Bill has kept the tradition going, because he feels an obligation to help make people smile this time of year. Especially this year.
Every item on the display is hand made. From the steel frames holding the lights up, to shaping the lights into holiday favorites.
“There’s no blueprint. Everything is from the top of our head. We make a lot of hiccups though. Nothing is perfect,” Bill said.
Bill was a member of the military for 30 years. Most of the people who help him set up the display are also veterans.
“They’re part of something, that’s a lot bigger than they are. It’s our light show,” Bill said.
The light display is open until January 2nd.
