GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Hospital restrictions continue to grow due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. That makes expectant mothers due in the coming weeks, like Meghan Gruszynski, nervous. It’s her first baby.

“So we’re really hoping at this point he just stays cooking in there until May 15, that’s my due date,” Gruszynski said.

Any sooner, and Grusynski’s child birth could look a lot different. Restrictions on visitors are already in place.

“I’d always pictured my parents there, and my husband’s parents there, coming in the 48 hours that we are at the hospital,” Grusynski said.

She worries regulations could become more strict, although she says she’s trying her best for her and her baby to stay calm.

“But at this point I have no control over anything,” she said.

“What I want in the end, is for our son to be healthy. And for my husband and myself to be healthy.”
