BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — As the replacement of the 100th Street bridge proceeds, drivers will find traffic slowed at the site this weekend as the freeway lanes will be closed and all traffic will be using the ramps at the interchange.
Bridge beams will be placed over the weekend, so traffic cannot use the freeway lanes northbound and southbound. All traffic will be routed into a lane closure approaching 100th Street, then travel up the exit ramp and return to the freeway lanes using the entrance ramp.
The closure will be in place from Friday, July 10, 6 p.m., to no later than Monday, July 10, 5 a.m.
There will be no access to US-131 from 100th Street.
The bridge replacement became famously necessary when the bridge was hit and damaged several times within a few weeks several years ago by loads that were too high.
