Update: shopping has resumed at the mall. Nothing suspicious was found by security, or a police K9 trained to detect bombs.

Original story:

A popular shopping destination in Kent County had to empty its stores Monday afternoon, when a threat was made against it.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says a bomb threat was called in against Tanger Outlets in Byron Township.

Based on the company's policy, all stores were evacuated, with shoppers told to leave while security and first responders sweep the area.
