Around 2,000 without power in Grand Rapids after car strikes pole

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Over 2,000 Consumers Energy customers in Grand Rapids and East Grand Rapids are without power due to an early morning car crash.

The Consumers Energy Outage Map shows 2,001 customers are without power after a car struck a power pole.

The outage area is bordered by Plymouth Avenue to the east, Eastern Avenue to the west, Logan Street to the north and Boston Street to the south.

A crew has been assigned and the power should be restored to the area by 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
