Celebrity animal trainer, Joel Silverman joined Fox 17's Brody Carter for a special interview about how to train your dog in the upcoming year.
Silverman said it's never too late to get your dog on-board with healthy behavioral trends, saying 2021 is the perfect time to set resolutions for your pet.
Silverman says positive re-enforcement is your primary focus when training your dog. One of the best places to start is teaching simple commands: "stay," "Drop," "Come," & "Down." If your dog is overweight, he says to use measuring cups for each meal, and to avoid cheap food as they sometimes carry preservatives and dyes that are harmful to pets.
