GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A woman was sent to the hospital after getting hit by a car while trying to cross Market Ave just south of Fulton at 11:15 p.m. Friday night.
The driver, a 49-year-old man, was heading southbound on Market Ave. at the time.
After an investigation, he was found to have been drunk during the crash and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.
The victim was taken to Butterworth Hospital for serious injuries, although they are not life-threatening and she was alert when the Grand Rapids Police Department arrived on scene.
