It happened late night Friday, when Grand Rapids Police officers responded to the report of a "violent crime."

A vehicle sped away from the scene, leading officers on a chase during which the suspect hit at least two police cruisers.

With the help of an MSP helicopter, officers tracked and chased the suspect until they stopped on Logan St. near Southeast Academic Center.

The suspect then got out of the vehicle and started running until they were caught in the area of Barth Avenue and Logan Street.
