GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A pair of trainers from Purpose Training has been hosting a series of free workouts across Grand Rapids, with one such workout happening yesterday morning at the Calder Plaza.
"It was basically to get people active with this whole pandemic with Covid-19 and to build our brand, Purpose Training," said trainer Austin Jimenez. "We’re building a personal training studio right around the corner, and we’re really trying to promote our brand and basically build up the personal training studio and new clientele, get people aware of our new studio and what we do, and also just build a community."
Jimenez and fellow trainer Tiffany Karger conducted the fourth workout of an 8-part boot camp series Saturday, helping local residents stay active and build a gym community that continues to grow.
"At the start we had 8 people, and we are slowly adding people week by week," Karger said. "Some of them are friends of ours, today we had 5 or 6 people we have never met before, so that’s good to know that the word is getting out there and what we’re doing is making an impact as we continue to get more people moving and have [sic] a good time."
The group's next workout will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, in Belknap Park. For more information, you can visit their Facebook page here.
