GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Community College has been awarded a federal grant to establish the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success.

The $450,000 grant, provided by the U.S. Department of Education, will allow the school to expand its services for veterans, according to GRCC.

“Like many of our students, veterans often attend college part time while juggling home and work responsibilities,” says GRCC President Bill Pink. “We’re focused on making sure these students have academic support and relevant assistance in tapping into the benefits they are entitled to. This grant will help us improve upon the strong program we presently have in place.”

We’re told the center will help veterans access various resources like financial aid, disability support and networking opportunities.
