GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Drivers are being asked to avoid Alpine Avenue just one block north of Leonard Street after a crash that caused damage to a building and knocked down a pole.
It happened around 6 a.m. after a driver hit a building and caused a pole to collapse in the roadway.

Right now it is not clear if the driver was injured in the crash or if anyone else was in the car.
Drivers are being advised to find an alternative route.
