Benson said absentee ballots from Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Warren and Sterling Heights are yet to be recorded; there are hundreds of thousands of ballots from the largest jurisdictions.

She said the absentee count in Grand Rapids is the largest number of outstanding absentee ballots in Kent County.

In her appearance, Benson did not say how many ballots are left, but said it's larger than the margin between Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.

"We'll know much more in the hours to come and we'll have a much more complete picture of Michigan later today," she said.

Two-thirds of voters voted absentee in Michigan.
