As Americans have spent more time at home the last few months, it's apparently showing in our purchases and hobbies. In fact, a new study revealed nearly 90 percent of Americans are taking up new hobbies during this pandemic.
Ware2Go, a company that streamlines delivery to customers, surveyed more than 1,000 people to see how they've spent their time during the COVID 19 outbreak.
Among some of the most notable changes, American consumers are buying more items related to working and learning from home, cooking, health and fitness, even our pets.
The study found the most popular quarantine activity to be cooking, with 81 percent of people learning to cook or cooking from home lately.
And, when it comes to working off that comfort food, the study revealed 42 percent of people started exercising. Vitamins and supplement purchases are also up 45 percent.
With this shift in consumer spending, it's now requiring companies to shift how they sell to consumers, calling the new business model B2E, meaning 'Business to Everyone.'
"Traditionally, companies would say they were B2B, or business to business, or B2C, business to consumer," explained Steve Denton, CEO of Ware2GO. "And I think this is just accelerate us to a place where you're B2B. Like if you're in business today, your business to everyone and and you've got to be able to sell to everyone. You need to be able to ship to everyone
"That's the new reality that we're all living in right now. And, the folks that make that pivot quicker are the ones that are finding ways to thrive in this difficult, challenging time."
