LANSING, Mich. — 1,774 new cases of coronavirus are confirmed in Michigan. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reports an additional 6 deaths connected to COVID-19 on Jan. 29, 2021.
There are 557,883 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 14,497 total deaths in Michigan.
As of Jan. 25, 463,106 have recovered from the virus.
In November, Governor Gretchen Whitmer and MDHHS Director Robert Gordon announced the 3-week pause which closed indoor dining, movie theatres, in-person learning at high schools and college and more.
That order was set to expire in early December, but Whitmer and Gordon announced a 12-day extension. The latest extension for restaurants will go through Feb. 1.
1,479,475 vaccines have been distributed throughout the state, and 854,084 have been administered as of Jan. 29.
