GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — COVID-19 testing tents will be closed until Monday, March 30th in anticipation of high winds through the weekend.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for most of Sunday, according to FOX 17 meteorologists who say a low pressure system bearing down on the region from the U.P to the Ontario area. Winds can be expected between 20 and 30 mph with gusts from 40-45mph. Keeping the tents occupied during winds like this only endangers people and equipment inside.

Even though the tents are shut down, Spectrum encourages those with severe symptoms to go to the nearest emergency room. Those with mild symptoms are encouraged to call the hotline at 616-391-2380. They ask those with mild symptoms to stay home, so that they don't expose themselves or others to the virus by visiting an urgent care center.
