GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The board of directors of the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival announced Wednesday morning that the festival is canceled for 2020. The popular festival returns July 30-Aug. 8, 2021.
The announcement on the festival web site said the board researched the issue for two months before making its decision.
“This decision is difficult but necessary to ensure a healthy community,” said the board’s statement. The decision was a reflection of “the Festival’s commitment to ensuring the health and safety of the honored personnel of the United States Coast Guard along with the citizens of our partnering municipalities.”
