LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 37,203.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) reported the latest numbers of cases in the coronavirus outbreak this afternoon.
The number of cases has increased 562 from yesterday, when there were 36,641 statewide cases. Yesterday, the state reported 1,350 new cases.
The state says there have been 3,274 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
The number of deaths has increased 189 from yesterday, when there were 3,085 statewide deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 108 new deaths.
Statewide, 8,342 people have recovered from the virus as of April 24. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."
In the U.S., there are 924,865 cases, and there have been 53,070 deaths — while 99,346 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
