29,263 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 29,263.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) reported the latest numbers of cases in the coronavirus outbreak this afternoon.

The number of cases has increased 1,204 from yesterday, when there were 28,059 statewide cases. Yesterday, the state reported 1,058 new cases.

The state says there have been 2,093 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 172 from yesterday, when there were 1,921 statewide deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 153 new deaths.
Statewide, 433 people have recovered from the virus as of April 10.

In the U.S., there are 648,788 cases, and there have been 30,920 deaths — while 53,489 people have recovered, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
