21,504 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 21,504.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) reported the latest numbers of cases in the coronavirus outbreak this afternoon.

The number of cases has increased 1,158 from yesterday, when there were 20,346 statewide cases.

The state says there have been 1,076 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 117 from yesterday, when there 959 statewide deaths.

In the U.S., there are 451,491 cases, and there have been 15,938 deaths — while 24,790 people have recovered, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
