More than 20,000 cases of coronavirus in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 20,346.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) reported the latest numbers of cases in the coronavirus outbreak this afternoon.

The number of cases has increased 1,376 from yesterday, when there were 18,970 statewide cases.

The state says there have been 959 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 114 from yesterday, when there 845 statewide deaths.

In the U.S., there are 404,352 cases, and there have been 13,829 deaths — while 22,775 people have recovered, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
