125,578 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 125,578.

The number of cases increased 891 from yesterday, when there were 124,687 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 1,054 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,781 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 19 from yesterday, when there were 6,762 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 11 new deaths.

Statewide, 95,051 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 25. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 7,255,546 cases, and there have been 207,374 deaths — while 2,840,747 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
