HOWARD TOWNSHIP, Mich — A driver crashed into a power pole after swerving to miss a dog on Christmas Day.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Detroit Road and Barron Lake Road in Cass County's Howard Township.
Police say witnesses told them a driver swerved to miss a dog who ran out into the roadway. The car went off the road and turned off, crashing into a power pole. Area residents did lose power for a time after the crash.
Both tre driver and passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.
