DETROIT (WXYZ) — Two children are deceased after a fire at a two-story home on Detroit's east side.
A 4-year-old and 6-year-old were found deceased in the front living room of the home, located on Helen Street. Officials say the mother and her three other children had to jump from a second-floor window to get to safety. They were taken to the hospital.

The mother and her three other children, aged 3, 8 and 10, jumped from a second-floor window to get to safety. Officials said the 3-year-old was in the mother's arms. They were taken to the hospital.
The 8-year-old girl suffered third-degree burns to her hands and face. The 10-year-old boy suffered third-degree burns to his hands and face, as well as smoke inhalation.
Officials say the cause of the fire is currently unknown, but it was an "extensive fire throughout the house."
