GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Jury selection for the parents of Jared Chance begins Monday morning at the 17th Circuit courthouse in Kent County.

Both James and Barbara Chance are charged with lying to police and helping their son after he killed 31-year-old Ashley Young back in September.

Chance was sentenced to a minimum of 100 years in prison; charged with second degree murder, mutilating a dead body, concealing death and three counts of tampering with evidence.

A jury will now hear the case involving his parents who police say allegedly helped Jared cover up the crime. James and Barbara face up to life in prison for perjury.
