1. Struggling to figure out what needs to be recycled? The City of Grand Rapids is rolling out a new campaign to help residents recycle more efficiently.

"Feet On The Street" is a first-of-its-kind cart-tagging recycling campaign, which the city says will help improve the quality of recyclable materials in residents' curbside carts.

Feet On The Street representatives will visit neighborhoods over the next three months. During that time, representatives will go through and review recycling.

More information about the city's campaign can be found on their website.

2. For the next few weeks, you can do more than buy shoes at Food Locker stores. Starting on September 22, people can register to vote there.

The company says it's turning all of its stores in the U.S. into temporary voter registration sites.

Registration kiosks inside the stores will feature a special website where visitors can check their voter status, register to vote, or sign up for election reminders.

Foot Locker says the initiatives is aimed at increasing youth voter turn-out in the upcoming election.

Foot Locker stores becoming voter registration sites is an effort to increase youth voter turnout.

3. Listen up iced coffee fans because Mr. Coffee has come out with a brand new ice coffee maker to enjoy the chilled beverage at home any time.

The coffeemaker brews your favorite iced coffee in less than four minutes, using a new technology called Rapid-Chill Brewing, which makes sure the drink doesn't end up watered down.

They're available at Target stores nationwide and online for $30.

4. Mother nature is doing some decorating of her own for Halloween, adding the perfect spooky touch.

The sky will be lit by a blue moon, the second full moon in that month. This will also be the first blue moon in the U.S. since March 2018.

Despite its name, a blue moon is not necessarily blue. The phrase "once in a blue moon" usually means a rare occurrence that can either be lucky or unlucky.

So if you experience something weird this Halloween, you can chalk it up to the blue moon.
