The pandemic has touched everyone in one way or another, but for those without reliable shelter, the problems can multiply quickly. Guiding Light provides services to the homeless and is partnering with other humanitarian organizations to help those most in need over the cold winter months.
Due to the pandemic, Guiding Light has a shortage of shelter in Grand Rapids. Close to 100 individuals will be sleeping outside this winter.
AS a result, Guiding Light has been working with Mel Trotter to find options to assist people in need. They're working to find additional temporary space to use as shelter, as well as providing homeless individuals with needed items to withstand winter such as tents, blankets, sleeping bags, and more.
