International Day of the Girl is on October 11, a day to spread the message to young girls around the world they matter and are loved. GEMS Girls' Club is recognizing the importance of this message, and GEMS Girls' Club is hosting a variety of virtual activities for young girls across Michigan.
GEMS is hosting Facebook Live interviews throughout the week leading up to International Day of the Girl, interviewing various speakers, girl-experts, and guests to share ways they’ve experienced love and what practical ways they would encourage girls to share the love.
The Grand Rapids-based organization also designed photo cards for the celebration, which girls can fill out and share the message that they are loved.
Families can participate in The International Day of the Girl by downloading various activities online such as "The Truth Is" photo cards, "50 Ways to Share the LOVED", send an encouraging not to someone using the "You are LOVED" cards, and more.
