Say hello to Friday's Friend, Casper! Much like the friendly ghost, this six-year-old boy can be a bit timid at first but will warm up with a slow intro and gentle approach. Casper is a gentle soul who appreciates a calm, quiet setting.

He feels most confident around other social cats and would love to have a feline friend or two in his new home. He enjoys spending time in his cat tree, watching birds, and Cat TV. Casper loves the occasional ear and chin scratch, and once you earn his trust, he will begin to melt right into your hand for more.

If you'd like to give this soft boy his forever home, visit hswestmi.org.

HSWM Blood Drive, there’s still time to give!

Giving truly does warm the heart! HSWM is hosting a Blood Drive, and there’s still time left to participate!

Versiti is the only blood bank that provides blood to every hospital in the Grand Rapids area, and their supplies are running dangerously low. COVID has taken a toll on all local hospitals, so your donation can give hope and strength to patients in need now more than ever!

The Versiti Blood Bus will be stationed in our parking lot on February 20 and will be accepting donations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sign up here to schedule your donor appointment, or visit our Facebook event page for further details. Walk-ins are also welcome!

PCC is just a month away!

Paws, Clasw, and Corks is happening on March 15. Even though Paws, Claws & Corks is a virtual event this year to prioritize community safety, local guests will still receive several in-person engagement opportunities. These activities include a takeout dinner from one of our favorite local restaurants, a party pack filled with wine, snacks, goodies for your pet, and more.

Not only that, but we’ll still be hosting robust silent and live auctions, featuring favorite local restaurants and wineries, and celebrating the life-saving work of HSWM over the past year.

Please plan to get comfy and join us - virtually - for this extremely important event to support animals in need! To learn more and purchase your tickets, click here.

Junior Board of Directors

Do you want to shape the future of animal welfare in West Michigan? Then you should join HSWM's inaugural Junior Board of Directors! This group of dedicated, self-starting young professionals will work with our own Board of Directors to make a real impact on animals in need.

If you're ready to rise up and support this movement, please visit hswestmi.org/juniorboard to fill out an application.

HWSM Spring Break Camp

It's strange to think about it with all of this snow on the ground, but spring is just around the corner!

HSWM invites your kids to hop into spring and join us for our Spring Break Camp, April 4 - 8 for daily games, crafts, special guest speakers, and more. Plus, no camp at HSWM would be complete without lots of animal time!

The staff at HSWM will be working hard to ensure safety and social distancing. While indoors, all campers will be required to wear a mask.

Registration is $40 per camper for one day or $130 for all four days. Aftercare is available until 5:15 p.m. for an additional $10 per day.

Sign kids up at hswestmi.org/youth-camps.html.
