Social change is a pressing issue, and many organizations are currently reviewing their strategies on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
MSUFCU Chief Marketing Officer Deidre Davis explains how MSUFCU is moving forward in its commitment to continue to build on its equitable environment.
MSUFCU's mission is to protect and improve the financial health of the community. This starts with a supportive environment where individuals and community partners are empowered to work together to create a place where we are proud to live and work.
MSUFCU builds, protects, and supports an inclusive environment where all are welcome and all have an equal opportunity for success. They create an equitable environment of inclusion where everyone is empowered to bring their full, authentic selves, as meaningful contributors, where diversity, equity, and inclusion are interwoven in all aspects of our work.
To support this invaluable work, MSUFCU added the position of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director, held by Amanda Denney, to work alongside the Chief Community Development Officer.
Amanda serves as the lead role in collaborating with the executive team, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, employees across all levels, Employee Resource Groups, and our communities to identify programs and initiatives that will be valuable and impactful to the Credit Union, all of its employees, and community members
The internal DEI Council will offer cross-organizational membership with representation from a diverse range of employees from across the Credit Union. The council will develop effective mechanisms to manage and launch diversity and inclusion programs within the Credit Union. Working with this council and other internal and external groups, Amanda will lead the initiation and implementation of effective mechanisms to manage diversity and inclusion programs and training within the Credit Union.
MSUFCU maintains values and philosophies around inclusion, which allow them to continue along the path towards growth and understanding.
Founded by and for employees, the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) provide social events, mentorship relationships, and professional opportunities for employees in all departments.
Externally, the Credit Union is committed to supporting community organizations and events that facilitate critical connections, fight against racial and social injustice, and educate our communities. MSUFCU stands in solidarity against racism, violence, and injustice, and they are committed to raising their voices and being part of the solution.
