Thanksgiving this November may not be exactly what we are used to for our families. While the table may not be as full of family members, lifestyle and parenting expert Sherri French is here today to show us ways to remember family traditions, but also embrace new ones that can create memories for future holidays.
Embrace The Past
Find a recipe passed down from your grandparents or great-grandparents and recreate it for your own family. If you are lucky, you will have a hand-written copy of the recipe.
Share Your Dinner
Make 'to-go' plates for any family members that are local and you wish you could spend your day with.
Document Wishes
While we are always thankful during the holidays, have your family write down wishes for 2021 and place them into a clear ornament that you can decorate your tree with. Pull them out and see what you wrote when you decorate in 2021.
Family Time
Before or after your meal, head outside to spend time as a family to take a walk or play football or basketball
Give Back
2020 has impacted so many families, so if your family has the ability to give back locally, network with local organizations and find a family that you can gift a Thanksgiving dinner to make their Thanksgiving memorable. Giving is always better than receiving.
