To honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and MLK Day, Celebration Cinema is presenting two critically acclaimed films recognizing leaders in the civil rights movement. You will get a look at the tensions, questions and adversity they faced as they sought out to use their voice and power.

One Night in Miami is the start of director Regina King’s unique approach to fictionalizing slices of the 1960s Black Power movement. Focused on a historic hotel room meeting between Ali, Malcolm X, the King of Soul Sam Cooke (Odom Jr.), and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Brown (Hodge), One Night in Miami takes the political and makes it personal.

MLK/FBI presents a sobering overview of the American intelligence community's efforts to discredit and destroy a leader of the civil rights movement. In crafting a rich archival tapestry, featuring restored footage of Martin Luther King, film director Samuel Pollard urges us to remember that true American progress is always hard-won.One Night in Miam is playing wide at all Celebration Cinema theatres. MLK/FBI is a limited release, playing exclusively at Studio Park. Tickets can be secured on the Celebration Cinema website. Celebration Cinema will contribute $1.00 from each ticket(to a cap of $1,000)sold over MLK weekend (Jan 15th -Jan 18th) to The Center for Community Transformation
