GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Eric Rittmeyer, who teaches mental toughness around the country, says people are hard-wired to be connected to others, so there can be problems that can grow out of everyone’s isolation from one another.

“It’s the connections we have that get us through,” he says. “It’s okay to love each other.”
