Max Goldwasser is excited to start this new chapter in his career as a proud member of the talented FOX 17 News team.
Max is a four-time award-winning journalist who comes to West Michigan from a local news station in Central Oregon, where he spent the last three years doing just about everything in front of and behind the camera. He organized and hosted two weeks of Olympics content, covered Oregon’s historic wildfire season in 2020 and created two original shows to engage with the community during the pandemic.
His on-screen experience and passion for storytelling began well before his journalism career. He grew up just north of Los Angeles in a community that had a 99-seat theater. Max performed in plays and musicals and offers his sincerest apologies to those who endured his singing. Later, he transitioned into screen acting, auditioning for commercials, television shows and movies.
However, after watching SportsCenter on ESPN every night before bed throughout middle and high school, he fell in love with the world of broadcasting and wanted to make a switch. With his twin by his side, Max attended the University of Southern California (Fight On!) where he studied Broadcast & Digital Journalism with a Sports Media Minor.
Max has never stepped foot in West Michigan before taking on this role as a Reporter/Anchor with FOX 17, but he is happy to call this place his new home. He sincerely appreciates the warm welcome he’s received from everyone so far and looks forward to serving the community and sharing your stories!
