Boil water advisory issued for portions of Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO — A boil water advisory has been issued for parts of Kalamazoo as officials work to repair a water main break on West Clay Street.

Officials say the advisory is only precautionary and did not find any bacteria in the repair site.

They say initial testing will take place in the next 24 hours and results should be back in the next 24 hours.

Here are the impacted areas:

West Clay Street – From North Rose Street (western boundary) to North Burdick Street (eastern boundary), north side of street. Does NOT include the northwest corner of West Clay Street and North Burdick Street.

North Rose Street – From West Prouty Street (northern boundary) to West Paterson Street (southern boundary), both sides of street. Does NOT include the northwest and northeast corners of North Rose Street and West Paterson Street. It also does NOT include the southeast corner of North Rose Street and West Clay Street.

West Prouty Street – Includes only 117 West Prouty Street and 212 West Prouty Street.

The advisory should be lifted by Feb. 27.
